Filipa Frois Almeida (Halle, Germany, 1981) is a transdisciplinary artist who lives and works in Porto.
She is a PhD student in Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, on a Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia scholarship.
She has a degree in architecture from ESAP, a diploma in Photography from Imago Galerie Berlin and a Master's in Artistic Photography from IPCI. She is the co-founder of FAHR 021.3 with Hugo Reis, a studio that works in the fields of art and architecture, with a diverse body of work such as critical spatial practices, installation, scenography and curatorship.
In her solo practice, she dedicates herself to the study of the perception of time and the figurative representation of memory, embracing aspects such as vulnerability, chance and error.
As a solo artist and in collaboration, she has presented her work at venues, galleries and festivals such as: Encontros da Imagem, Braga; Bienal de Arte Contemporânea na Maia, Maia; Serralves em Festa, Porto, Galeria Duarte Sequeira, Braga; among others.
